Shear Madness: October 7th - 14th
- Shear Madness is back! Try to catch the killer at this hilarious whodunit where the clues change at every performance, and you never see the same show twice. Set in present-day Georgetown, Shear Madness engages locals and visitors alike as armchair detectives to help solve the scissor-stabbing murder of a famed concert pianist who lives above the Shear Madness unisex hairstyling salon. The show combines up-to-the-minute improvisational humor and a mixture of audience sleuthing to deliver a unique performance each night.

The Stuttgart Ballet:Onegin: October 8th - 12th
- The Stuttgart Ballet makes a riveting return for the first time in decades with its bold and lavish production of Onegin. This dramatic tale of love, rejection, and regret ignites with John Cranko’s passionate choreography and rich characterizations. Based on Alexander Pushkin’s 1825 narrative poem Eugene Onegin, the ballet centers on the innocent, bookish Tatiana who falls deeply for the worldly, mysterious Onegin.

Because They're Funny Comedy Festival : October 10th - 12th
- Because They’re Funny (BTF) is a comedy festival from the producers of the American Black Film Festival, created to celebrate multicultural voices in comedy. Named one of USA Today’s “Ten Best Live Events” of 2024, BTF returns for its third year with a continued mission: launch the next generation of stand-up stars, and showcase comedy-driven film and TV content.

Snallygaster: October 11th
- Brought to you by the minds behind DC’s Bluejacket, ChurchKey, The Sovereign, Shelter and more, this is far and away the biggest event of the year for beer geeks of every stripe. Those in the know, know: Snallygaster is the District’s biggest & beastliest beer festival, bar none. And on October 11, 2025 the merry monster makes its triumphant return to DC for its 13th year as a rollicking tribute to the wonderful world of craft beer.

Race the District: October 9th - 12th
- Race the District returns October 9–12, transforming Union Market’s parking lot into a high-energy outdoor racetrack. The thrill goes beyond the track this year with a major headline moment: electronic duo Louis The Child will bring a live block party performance to 5th Street (adjacent to Union Market). The weekend will be packed with go-karting excitement for all ages (a minimum height of 58” is required), from seasoned racers to complete beginners.

Boo at the Zoo: October 17th - 19th
- Get ready for a WILD Halloween night out! Boo at the Zoo, the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute’s beloved family-friendly Halloween celebration. Put on your favorite costume and explore the Zoo after hours, collecting treats at 30 trick-or-treat stations throughout the park. Watch as animals enjoy jack-o'-lanterns and other spooky enrichment surprises, and stroll past whimsical Halloween scenes featuring skeletons and fantastical creatures along the main walkway.
